Arshdeep Singh Kahlon is a Canadian immigration lawyer with over 14 years of legal experience, including more than seven years focused primarily on Canadian immigration law. He is the founder of Kahlon Law Office, where he provides strategic, client-centred legal services in a broad range of immigration matters. Before establishing his practice in Canada, Arshdeep worked as a trial court lawyer in India, gaining experience in litigation and various areas of law. His trial court background has contributed to his ability to manage complex immigration cases involving inadmissibility, appeals, misrepresentation concerns, student removals, and enforcement actions.
Arshdeep has appeared before multiple decision-making bodies, including the Federal Court, Immigration Division, Immigration Appeal Division, and the Canada Border Services Agency. His Federal Court work includes successful outcomes in several cases, such as Singh v. Canada (2024 FC 1369) regarding verbal U.S. entry denials, Rupal v. Canada (2024 FC 1371) addressing webform submissions prior to visa decisions, and Kaur v. Canada (2023 FC 1470) involving the review of a five-year spousal sponsorship bar. In 2025, he also represented clients in two Federal Court matters that were not successful, and he continues to apply those experiences to strengthen the representation he provides in future cases.
Beyond litigation, Arshdeep assists clients with a wide spectrum of immigration pathways, including family reunification, permanent residence applications, humanitarian considerations, refugee protection, and temporary residence matters. He has also supported families in navigating complex cross-border issues such as international adoption. Arshdeep is committed to ensuring access to justice and offers pro bono legal services to individuals who may otherwise be unable to obtain legal assistance.
Arshdeep completed his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree at the University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. He was called to the Bar in India at the age of 23 and later immigrated to Canada in 2016. After completing the National Committee on Accreditation requirements and the Bar Admission Program, he articled with two Manitoba law firms and was called to the Bar in Manitoba on June 20, 2019.
